It works
It works and it fits. It's expensive for what is basically a bit of bicycle cable with a ferrule on each end but there is no other choice. Being a genuine BMW part it will hopefully last as long as the original did (19 years) as it a horrible job that I am in no hurry to repeat.

Very supple but durable.
These gloves resist perforation by brambles admirably and last for ages. They are comfortable to wear, without being bulky - a second skin.

Robust, strong and attractive, with a decent finish.
These hooks are pretty well made - I use them to hang antique guns on, which tells you how strong they are. The burnished finish is good, without being prissy - only close inspection will reveal very minor surface scratches from the fabrication process. They have a nice, old-fahioned, "smithed" appearance, and appear to be lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
