Nice looking engine just cant get it to stop leaking oil!!
I was hesitant to purchase do to the reviews i read about a lot of their engines leaking oil but thought that i might get lucky but that was not the case.. after three months of having the engine and the pandemic slowing and allowing me to move forward with it being installed my mechanic informed me that it was in and ready to start so i drove nearly 50 miles to witness what i had feared from the beginning we started it tuned it up fallowing the engines builders instructions for the the first run no sooner did we shut it off i looked to see if it was going to leak oil and sure enough it started and it just kept leaking so it came out and installed a new rear main seal and not to mention 3 different valve cover gaskets which it still leaks a small amount but the rear main will not stop leaking! So all in all I’ve put some miles on it to a few car gatherings and a few small trips as long as i have a couple quarts of oil in the back of my truck!! Nothing like going somewhere and somebody says beautiful truck then leaving only to leave a massive puddle of oil so now I’ve made my own little sign that says thanks for looking just don’t slip on the oil curtesy of 5 star engine in Glendale Arizona!!
like i said looks good sitting there just don’t look under the truck! The 2 pics of oil are from over night sitting in the garage its worse after sitting 2 days and so on!!
I though that spending over $4200+ i would’ve got better craftsmanship but i was terribly wrong! Maybe ill just rebuild the original straight six that this 327 replaced and sell this non stop leaking engine!!
