Fails as a Dual Link cable
This cable worked just long enough for me to accept it, then I started getting a floating box on my Acer 3D monitor telling me to use the correct dual link cable. As this happened while playing Dying Light, I Googled the game and wasted 2 days trying to fix my screen resolution. When I finally realised it was happening with several games and with 3DMark as well I went back to my old, shorter cable and the problem was gone.

the Delorean of phones
I bought this phone for the slide-out qwerty keyboard. The only other phone available at the time was the Nokia N97, which has gone on to receive some bad feedback.
The only reason I haven't given the xperia X1 an excellent rating is the criminally poor video playback capabilities. That's the deal-breaker and it's shockingly bad.
I transferred my videos from my old Nokia N95 and they were stuttery. Even the James Bond trailer that comes with the phone isn't all that smooth. In fact the phone can't even play back the videos you take with its very own camera smoothly.
I rely on video playback for my daily commute. The nice, big video display on this phone (800x360 pixels or thereabouts) turns into merely a gimmick when you discover you need to convert your videos to no more than 300x150 if you want them to be watchable.
With that out of the way, everything else is superb about this phone - the GPS, the touchscreen panels, the quality of the 3.2megapixel camera. If you own one you can't help loving all its wee features and quirks.
As the title says, it's the delorean of phones - a flawed classic in an aluminium body.
