Hearing is believing
When I saw the pictures of this cab I knew it was small, but when I pulled it out of the box it was even smaller than I had envisioned. It felt like an old boom box when I picked it up, but lighter than one, I think. It only took a few seconds to get my power block attached and plugged into the cab with the complimentary cord. About that cord - it's the cheapest looking speaker cord I've ever seen. It's the equivalent of buying a $5000 suit and receiving a complimentary clip on bow tie. Nice. So much for that; at least it works and I won't need to unplug and plug in very often. I would give it about a dozen cycles at best. Okay, now for the speakers - unbelievably loud, clear, full and rattle-free. This cab is very well designed and delivers. Period. The highs are crisp, the mids are clean, and the bass is tight. I own some pretty nice tube amps - 2 boutique and 2 vintage Fenders - and they all sound incredible. But after hearing this setup I'm convinced that it's the most gig worthy piece of equipment I own. I don't mind carrying it to rehearsal and loading it back up. It's lightweight and easily fits in my trunk with my guitars. The XLR out on the amp is a plus too cause I won't need to mic the speakers. Actually, for most gigs I see them being loud enough with good enough dispersion on their own that going through the pa isn't even necessary. There's something to be said about a good tube combo with a well broken in Celestion or Weber or JBL and I won't be dumping my tube amps anytime soon, but in the foreseeable future I'll be gigging with this rig. That's what it's designed for.

Fills the gap
I was looking for a pedal to give me a convincing 12 string sound. When I received it at my office I plugged it in, as any responsible guitarist would do even while at work. One of the employees thought for sure i had a 12 string, so there you go.
The band I'm working with has added some Byrds tunes to our covers as well as Kicks by Paul Revere and the Raiders.
The pedal is just right for my board and handles it's assignment well. Only 3 knobs, so even I can set it with no worries as to what this or that does. Just set it to your tastes and roll with it. I have the dry signal and octave up set at 12:00 and the sub octave on zero because I'm using it to cover 12 string parts. However, it gets a nice church organ sound by adding some suboctave to the blend, especially with a little tremolo added. I don't currently have a need for that, but you never know. I've been playing professionally for 35 years and would have bought it a long time ago had it been invented. Until something much better comes along to get a 12 string sound, this pedal has a spot on my board.

built to last - and it sounds good the whole time
I have played both pro and semi pro over the past 37 years. I've tried a lot of pedals during that time and I have to say that BOSS seems to have their head on straight. Their warranty is superior to many brands and their pedals are built to work - Period! I had a Dunlop tremolo pedal I had been using for the past 3 years, and not that often because I only perform a handful of tunes that require it, and it
failed. It was subtle at first and eventually just fizzled out completely, so I got a TR-2. I haven't had it long, but I trust that it will give me many years of service as do their other pedals. No matter how good a pedal sounds, if it fails to work its useless to me.
