Mercury 126.174 Handy Kit for Your Old CDs and DVDs Disc Scratch Repair Kit

Cheap and chearfull but does what is says on the box!

I brought this to try and fix a DVD that jumps because of a scratch. The unit came new in its original package. It included cleaning and scratch remover fluids but despite the packaging saying 4 cleaning pads there was only 3. (not even room for a fourth!) You need to put plenty of fluid on the pad as it acts as a lubricant. The latch for the lid is a little tricky to use, you have to push quite forcefully to get it to lock. I found the handle quite difficult to turn unless you have plenty of fluid on the pad and then it spins reasonable smoothly. I spent about 20 minutes in total trying to buff it out but unfortunately it didn't remove the scratch. It was a deep one and I didn't honestly expect it to fix it. It does remove light scratches after plenty of spinning. The DVD still skips but not as bad. Maybe another 15 minutes of spinning will improve it more.

Great for dual monitors

Ideal for Dual Monitor setups. If adding a second monitor you saves on power sockets. Some people say they are to short but I found them Ideal for 24" Dual screen setups. You might strugle if you try to use one end to power a floor standing base unit and a single monitor,

Good value but a bit of a disappointment.

They are cheap enough but disappointed that the face is only on one side. This is not obvious from the picture or the description and they would not work in the location I wanted to use them in. Also the spike is very flimsy and needs a whole dug, I wouldn't want to put any force on it! I did keep them because I might have a use for them in another location.
