Max Richter is a genius
This wonderful CD totally exceeded my expectations. The musicians include Robert McFall and Su-a Lee, some of the more talented and creative players in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (see also SCO 'Explorer' concerts). To say it is Nyman-esque, or Eno-esque, would be an underestimation of, or mild insult to, it, but it certainly has an atmospheric quality. Very relaxing, and without getting too OTT, I think it taps into primordial human rythms, and emotions deep down inside us. Where sound/background noise meets music, but in the best possible way. Buy it now!
