    Scythe Stone,No 6055, Ali Industries
    25 Oct, 2016
    Not really what it says
This is NOT really a Scythe stone. Yes the package does say scythe stone. It also says course/fine right underneath that. There is nothing fine cut about this stone. It is a very deceptive title given to it by the manufacturer. This is closer to a medium cut machinists file than a sharpening stone. It is course in its cut. Yes it will sharpen a blade but NOT to the level needed on a Scythe. It is more suited to sharpening a hoe, or shovel or lawn mower blade where you do not need, or want, that razor edge that you need on a scythe. To send it back would mean spending money on return shipping and I would end up on the losing end of that deal so I will keep it to sharpen other tools and to put the second bevel back on the scythe when the time comes in the future. Perhaps this review will save someone else some money. If you want something that will sharpen a lawnmower blade buy a machinists file. They wont break if you press too hard or drop them. If you want a Scythe stone keep looking - I am.

Seymour SN-1 Wood Snath, White Ash
    20 Oct, 2016
Dont waste your money like I did
I gave such a low rating for several reasons which make this snath very difficult to use properly. 1) The grips are something that will cause the majority of people a problem. These should be adjustable with a nut that is on the nib band. This has been prevented by the manufacturer. As a user you should be able to move the grips up or down on the snath, depending on your height and also be able to rotate the grips to a proper placement for comfort, ergonomic, placement. The manufacturer has arbitrarily placed the grips and then placed a washer on top of the adjustment nut preventing the ability to adjust the grips. And to make matters worse the nib band was ground off above this washer so that metal was extruded over the washer preventing removal. 2) If by some chance you are able to remove the washer preventing the adjustment of the grips you run into another problem. It appears the entire snath was assembled and then coated, heavily, with what appears to be lacquer. This is not bad in itself except it glues the nib band to the snath itself. If you do manage to get to a point where you might be able to adjust the grips you will need to break the nib band free of the lacquer, and then smooth down the over-spray which glues down the nib band. 3) The loop bolt on the hafting collar is made of a softer type of steel. This is the band that holds the blade in place and basically attaches it to the snath. As you use the scythe the pressure on this band from the blade will cause the blade to loosen repeatedly. I have tightened it enough that I now find concern that I might strip the threading of the loop bolt. Consequently there is now a small amount of wobble in my blade. I did contact the manufacturer directly about the problem with adjusting the grips. After all the reseller is just that a reseller. I got a response quickly with an attachment of a PDF created by the Baryonyx knife company indicating that this guide would tell me how to adjust the grips. Sadly the guide assumed the manufacturer would not seal off access to the nib band adjustment nut. After contacting the company a second time detailing precisely why I could not adjust the grips I heard nothing back. I must assume that whoever contacted me has no idea how to solve my problem or is not worried about my problems as my money is already in someone else's hand, perhaps both. So I cannot recommend this snath except for a wall decoration or perhaps a costume accessory. For something to be used as a working implement I recommend that you seek out one of the scythe supply companies who will ‘custom’ make the snath to fit you precisely for the same amount of money. Once I save up, again, enough money I know that is what I will to do. Oh and do get the guide it is quite good overall, just do a Google search and you should be able to find it easily.

New 3D OPTICAL SCROLL WHEEL RED MOUSE MICE for PC/LAPTOP/DESKTOP
    19 Oct, 2016
    3D Optical Scroll Mouse
When I ordered this mouse I figured I was going to get a piece of junk, but I needed a mouse and was strapped for cash at the time. When I received the device I plugged it in to the USB port and had zero problems. It works as good as any other generic mouse which for the price is saying a lot. It is NOT fancy but then it is not touted as a gaming mouse. You just can't beat the deal on this one. The only con is that it is a little on the small side for my hand but I have larger hands so thats to be expected. It is a bit larger than a laptop mouse if that helps. At any rate after a bit of use I was happy enough that I bought another one. shipping, handling, speed of deliver were all above average.
