False capacity
0 of 1 found this helpful Upon installation of this solitary memory module, I found Windows unable to boot and caused a restart. Even a hard drive preinstalled with Windows 7 in OOBE mode failed to boot with no orbs and a blue screen.
I was only able to boot Knoppix (a light version of linux on a disc) which would freeze when used long enough.
It was only when I booted a Hirens CD and ran memtest did I realise that the RAM was to blame - The test froze halfway through, every time!
This shows that the memory has half the capacity it claims to have, and also explains the random jumble of numbers representing the memory capacity in the BIOS.
