It gives an idea of the cable yr tracing
It’s ok in that there is signal of a sort when tracing a cable but does not give much of a different signal when touching the coopers of that cable. That is to say not much different between cooper and insulation of the cable.

Not happy
I fitted on my car and within a week noticed that sometimes there was a thick cloud of smoke behind me and strong smell of oil. When I looked at the spark plugs they were coated in oil,even a film of oil on the piston heads.
Conclusion is the cover was releasing not only pressure from the crank case but oil which was going into the throttle body
