Great easy pedagogy

Super book with the best anatomical drawings available IMO. Bunch’s narrative is clear and easy to read but def one for the advanced vocal technique thinker! A good read

canon powershot g9

G9 Grading up from an a710is (I really wanted to upgrade to a 30D SLR, but common sense prevailed about how much i would carry something like that around) - the g9 is a really good choice and is cheap at the price on ebay now. It is a large compact, but still fits in a small size camera pouch. (you could fit 3 slim ixus' for the size!) absolutely gorgeous screen and i like the menu system - it has a whole host of new things and the scroll wheel is a real boon up from the 710 and makes navigating in shot and whilse viewing your pics much quicker It isn't light, but is lovely sturdy feeling (and a much nicer feel than the g12 my friend has which feels plastic and cheap in comparison. The wealth of features mean that you would do better not to buy it if you want a simple point and shoot for holidays - on most pictures now i fiddle with one or another function to get a better picture...some people argue this loses the moment sometimes, but when you know where things are it speeds up your response to getting there and getting a picture away. i still have a long way to go to using it fully, but i do enjoy using it and i think in time it will let me learn more about photography.. my only downside is that in low light it possibly isn't as good as an slr because the sensor isn't as big, but i would only trade up to something like a 5D to be bothered with the extra size anothe rtip -get a couple of spare batteries if going out for the whole day - the screen needs to be bright on sunny days!
