A nice gift for an elderly person.

It does the job.
This dehumidifier is ok. It's a bit flimsy (especially the water tray which will eventually crack unless it is handled carefully) so I would not say it is good quality.
More for home use rather than industrial. It's fairly good value as it does the job well. The issue I have with it is that it automatically switched itself off if the room goes under a certain temperature. As a result, I have to use it in conjunction with an oil filled radiator to ensure that the dehumidifier does not switch off. My previous dehumidifier worked in all temperatures.
For the price I paid, the Avalla XX-500 dehumidifier is fine. It does exactly what it is made to do which is collect water and on that basis I'm fairly happy with it. It is also reasonably priced.
