Informative and Entertining
Compact set which if purchased for the pretty bindings of the individual hard backs would have cost nearly ten times as much. The contents touch on myths and legends from around the globe. Nice to have all that information in a compact set. The Norse and Celtic volumes seem most timely as it touches on many of the recent movies with super hero theme. Indian volume is about legends/myths from India, not native Americans. The Greek volume is pretty much what was taught in public school in we paid attention. I knew nothing of the African which suggested Aesop's style might have been from ethnic origin as a black slave. Chinese and Japanese volumes I learned much from. Japanese and Chinese volumes I learned the most from. I liked the Egyptian volume best and was surprised by that. That volume included documents from real people, some expressing their dissatisfaction in the day to day.
