Nice watch, great functions, good for a little camper or an adult
It's a nice little watch with a lot of functions. Great gift for a boy scout on a camping trip or to have on a pack.. A few things. The buckle is a little hard to clasp putting it on. And the thermometer is a little hard to read if you have the watch face towards you. And it's in CELSIUS..So if you want Fahrenheit instead, you're kinda out of luck. Also the fire starter works better if you use a pocket knife instead of the included metal scraper, but I suppose it could work in a pinch if you had nothing else. Compass works great.. could be a little bigger. Overall, a good watch with a shiny bottom that can also be used as a signal mirror.. little bonus. Great value. Nice thing to have and very affordable. :)

Excellent Continuation of "The Resistance"
1 of 1 found this helpful Not many Mini-Series of the 1980s have been as watched or as successful as "V" This the follow up to the hugely successful "V" "V, The Final Battle" tells the continuing story of the Resistance, and those who are collaborating with The Visitors.
With great writing, excellent performances from a cast which includes Marc Singer and Robert Englund (before he was "Freddy") this is a delight to watch over and over again.
One of the things I love about older sci-fi movies and TV is the fact that most of it is derived not by the flashy special effects, but by the writing. They make up for the lack of visual effects you would see on a major motion picture by painting a portrait that shows each characters motivations, strengths and weaknesses.
A great addition to any Sci-Fi fan, "V The Final Battle" is a great mini-series to add to your collection.

A classic Sci Fi film....Reborn
The 1970s was kinda like a "Black Hole" for science fiction movies, that was until Star Wars came along. I remember seeing this movie as a kid when my parents took me to see "Star Wars" and "The Black Hole" as a double feature at the local drive in. Remember Drive Ins? While everyone else was trying to make a "Star Wars" rip off, Disney did something else.
A simple story, this one follows the crew of the spaceship USS Palomino as they are returning home from a research mission, only to run by a huge Black Hole and right next to it, defying the massive gravity is a lost ship the USS Cygnus which had disappeared 20 years earlier. When they go in to investigate, their ship is damaged and they have to board the Cygnus which is run by a both brilliant and mad scientist. But the Cygnus has more than a mad scientist with robots on board, it also carries a dark secret.
It's a very entertaining film, and certainly for the time a major achievement. Released in 1979, It was nominated for two Oscars for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. It was Disney's first PG rated film, and certainly a good break from the "Star Wars" rip offs that everyone else was making at the time.
In addition you have very good performances from the whole cast. Lots of action, and it's not only a good sci fi movie, but also a good family film. While the effects may be a little dated, I think it's a good contender with films made today which are so FX oriented.
