These things really do work!
2 of 2 found this helpful It's a great a solution that was budget friendly, and saved us pulling our hair out when our wifi was getting hiccups in the middle of the workday! This unit was easy to set up the first time we bought it, and it was easy for us to use this new set to add to our existing network. Our house was built in 1992 -- I've heard folks in some homes having issues with "separate circuits due to different sides of the circuit breaker" but evidently that's not an issue for us. And now we can also save our wifi for the devices that don't have ethernet inputs!
There are also two tips people should be aware of when holding the SECURITY button to initialize either the original set or a new set. First, hold it down long enough until it blinks (which is mentioned on the Netgear website, though not in the instructions in the box). Second, if it's not blinking for you, try "rolling" the button under your finger a little bit to change where the pressure is being put on the underlying circuit board.
