Eureka! It works!
Since this is a used item, it’s nice to find one that actually works. Most have worn out heads which leads to a lot of audio and video noise. I feel lucky to have found it. Seller was great too.

Think Again
18 of 19 found this helpful I have purchased 5 of these machines, one at a time, trying to find one that works to no avail. The last one is going back to the store this week. The main reason I bought it is to record scheduled recordings so I don't miss programs when I'm away from home. Well, forget about that as one never knows when it will record or not. I found this to be true with all 5 units. Panasonic offers phone support and even they could not offer any recommendations that actually helped. I emailed them too and then they sent me a disc that was supposed to update the firmware. That was installed and even that did not help.
This is a very unfortunate experience as I would have never thought that Panasonic would put out a product that does not work but it appears they have. The idea is a great one, if only it worked with any amount of reliability.
