An Excellent and Ambitious Game
The Metal Gear Solid series is very highly regarded by many, and from this game it is easy to see why.
The story, character, gameplay, graphics and audio are all excellently used to create a very enjoyable experience, and the attention to detail is impressive. Overall, the game has the feel of a James Bond film crossed with an 80's action film, with talk of politics, espionage and terrorism appearing alongside giant walking tanks and cyborg ninjas.
It is worth noting, however, that the game hasn't aged well in some respects; the directional controls sometimes change during gameplay, which can be a little confusing, and it can take a while to get used to the somewhat restricted camera controls. I didn't find them to be too much of a problem, but I can see how these aspects might be annoying.
I would highly recommend this game, particularly if you have played a Metal Gear game before, but remember that it may not be as elegant as some of the newer installments.
