High tech looks and sound!
5 of 5 found this helpful These speakers look very nice sitting on my desk but that wouldn't matter to me if they didn't sound nice as well. I had read a lot of positive reviews about the Soundsticks and had looked for a good used set at Amazon. I had bid on a few reconditioned sets from the Harman/Kardon site on E-Bay but had always lost out. I knew I could rely on the quality of the item from the factory and the price was better than buying new. The set I bought was described as only six months old and looks like new! I feel that this is important because they are clear plastic and scratches could certainly detract from my enjoyment of them even though it would not affect their sound. And, by the way, the sound is great! I have heard the Bose Companion 2.0 system and I would say the Soundsticks are better because of the subwoofer. The bass level is adjustable which means at low levels it could be turned up, enhancing the playback of whatever music is playing. The only drawback is the sub's level adjustment is on the back of it's enclosure, somewhat inconvenient if it is placed on the floor. I also like the touch sensitive volume adjustment that's placed on the right satellite. Very high tech! All in all, for computer speakers they are great, offering high tech good looks, and great sound. They can't match the sound and volume of my full size stereo speakers, but I didn't expect them to. That's a different application entirely. I would highly recommend the harman/kardon soundsticks to anyone looking for a good pair of computer speakers.

Southside Johnny and Little Steven at their finest!
The Jukes created another great party record with this one. Their third record, and perhaps their best, Hearts of Stone was written and produced by Little Steven Van Zant, who can be heard singing backup on most of the tracks. The material is great, and the intensity of the singing and playing doesn't let up throughout the album. This recording firmly establishes Johnny and the Jukes as great band and is worth a listen. Bruce Springsteen and Little Steven helped launch Southside's career by supplying material for their first three records but they were on their own after this one. As such they never sounded better and the band started to fragment on subsequent recordings. The material just wasn't as good even though the heart and soul (and Southside's voice) was still there.

like the two for one cd's!
Between these two albums there is an excellent mix of studio and live versions of the early and best of Dave Mason. I highly recommend this disc to even casual fans of the former Traffic guitarist. A nice taste of the 70's also.
