They work as intended
The only problem with these collars is that the cats lose them, but then the point of them is that they come off when snagged and don't hurt the cat.
The last two I got lasted a few years (the photo I've posted is from 2017!), so they don't come off too easily, but they do what they're meant to do.

Very happy...and safe!
I bought this because it was cheap, just to try out the idea of it, with a view to possibly getting a more expensive and better quality one later. It seems I won't need to, as this one is more than capable of holding the weight of a full kettle, and shows no sign of instability.
Very happy not to run the risk of scalding myself whem making a cuppa!
