Terrible Rod

I have had 6 Salmon on in the past 3 days and landed only 1. These fish are a combination of Atlantic, Coho , and Kings ranging from about 6-20 lbs. My line ( Trilene 8 lb xt ) has broken 4 times. I have fished Salmon and Steelhead over 40 years and NEVER had this happen. The only thing new in the equation is the ROD I have to believe the line is getting cut by the eyes. I watched today as a Beautiful Coho about 15 lbs swam away with both hook and bobber ( could see fish swimming ). Booo. I’m going to switch back to one of my old rods. Very, Very , Very Disappointed
