Wow! Big, loud, wonderful Ampeg tube tone!
I've played Ampeg for years (but am not closed-minded about other great amps). This is my second all tube head. My other all tube is an older V-4BH (which sounds more like a 100w SVT at lower volumes, and this reissue is naturally less dark and seems louder, but it can easily mimic the BH. I really loved my BH, but the reissue has become my main amp. Matched with an good and efficient cab this thing is loud. Not SVT loud, but loud enough for music that sounds musical instead of just loud. This will work for larger venues than you might think even on it's own. But if you have PA support you could use this in about any setting unless you have crazy loud stage volume. So don't let the 100watts make you think this thing is tame. When pushed, the tube breakup is sweet not harsh.
I'm very impressed. Ampeg hit a home run with this amp. It's great to have an all tube head that doesn't weight 80lbs. It's built very well and seems to be very good quality. If his were stolen etc., I wouldn't even look at other brands--I'd just buy another.

Great flat for something a little different flat flavor
Nice flat for something a little different than the tradition 60s thump. I like to have one bass with Roto flats for variety. They are a little more stiff and not super smooth like GHS Precision flats or the like, and are a little lower in volume, but provide a nice alternative flat flavor. Whatever gauge you normally play, might go one lighter.

Wow! Gave the guitar life!
I put these on an mid-priced acoustic for a friend and they brought it to life. It came new with some D'Addario Coated strings. I never thought it sounded clear and present even when new, until the Martin's. What a difference they made.
