Best guide to Norfolk birdwatching
This guide gives excellent and accurate information about a series of sites that the author clearly knows inside out. Each of the 85 coastal and inland sites are described using the same layout starting with Target birds, so if you are looking for a particular bird you can narrow your search, then comes a list of all the other birds you are likely to see at that site broken down into seasons or all year.
Next is a section on Background information and biding tips telling you about the layout of the site and the best places to see the target birds. There is a map of the site showing pathways, car parks, toilets etc. along with a How to get there description, which includes GPS coordinates or postcode details for those with sat nav's. Finally a Key points column down the side of the page highlights a quick guide so you can get a feel for the site within 30 seconds without reading the detailed info.
At the back of the book you will find an index of the target birds and the sites they can probably be seen at along with a map of the whole county so you can see the proximity of sites to plan your day.
Overall I can't fault this book as someone who does not know this area well.
