Great radio on the cheap . Good quality , plus the weather band picks up well nearly anywhere . I've never owned a mobile Cobra of that I didn't have good things to say about it

Wilson 5000 Roof Mount 66 inch whip
Hello everyone, I’ll make this short as I can . If you properly installed a Wilson 5000 roof mount with the supplied 62.5 inch whip and you can’t get your SWR’s below 1.5 or higher,, and you have checked your install for mistakes, and you have a good ground at the mount , on a good clean flat surface ,, quit thinking you done something wrong . It’s not you , it’s Wilson . Order the 66 inch , make sure you don’t order it from mygoods on EBay or you’ll be waiting for 14 days to get it , lesson learned . Install the 66 inch whip , and proceed to checking SWR and cutting about 3/16 of an inch off after each check , be sure to push the stinger all the way to the bottom each time . I trimmed about 1.5 inches ,, maybe 1.75 total and I have a 1.1:1 match on most of the CB band ,, highest is a 1.25:1 . I’m really pleased , I just wish Wilson would address this issue . It woulda saved me a lot of headache and waiting . But overall for the money and performance, it’s a great antenna with really good “ears” .

Do not order this if you are looking to replace the end on your Wilson 1000 magnet mount coax . It DOES NOT FIT
Why is so damn hard and frustrating to find the replacement PL-259 on the end of the coax of a Wilson 1000 magnet mount . This does not fit . Not even close . Why doesn’t someone come up with the proper wording ? I know I’m not the only one who has ordered numerous PL-259 replacements for this ridiculous set up only to find it doesn’t fit .
