The base unit is missing the internal seal meaning that steam escapes from the sides of the base plate which is fitted to the heating element. This is a two fold problem, not only does it mean escaping steam is drenching the kitchen sides in water it also means that the bottles aren't reaching the required temperature to be sterilised. Whilst it switches on and boils it is not working as it should. Unsafe and frustrating.
