Perfect for casual or serious use
2 of 2 found this helpful I have to say this camera gives fantastic value. I'm a professional myself, so every time I look at compacts that will be handy for casual shots etc I always end up looking at very expensive ones and so not getting anything.
Got this camera, when asked to pick up compacts for two family members... got one myself and once I started exploring the functions and using it a bit was very impressed.
The optical zoom as 30x is amazing ... I shot video on it, looks great on the big screen TV, hi resolution. It has a good range of automatic functions, including shutter and aperture priority and full manual... even an exposure correction dial, on the camera, so not need to go into a menu to use it.
Video fans will enjoy this a lot, sound quality good, it has wind reduction, file format options different resolutions to shoot at. You can leave it as is, or adjust to your own preference.
One thing to watch out for, you can accidentally change display and other setting, which is a bit of a pain... keep the manual and you'll be alright. If you use it a lot, those things won't be a problem .
Very happy with this purchase, delivered much more than I expected. .. and if it just delivered what I expected, it would still be a great purchase.

secomnd hand but great quality
the book is clearly second hand, but well cared for. No dog eared pages or writing on pages etc. Good second hand book.
