A befitting nod to the late Jobst Brandt; the Alpine JB tire will roll you out to almost anywhere.
Well, I was fortunate to know JB, a northern CA cycling legend. Irascible, brilliant, extremely knowledgeable; did not suffer pompous know-it-all fools lightly at all. His Sunday off-season rides were legendary; I was fortunate to participate in some of these. The tire of choice for these rides was the Clement Championate del Mundo silk tire, very light and surprisingly durable. Anyway, the Alpine JB is also surprisingly lightweight for what size it is (700x30c, no goo or glue for me, which is even better:-).
Again, a befitting nod of honor to one who, IMHO, deserves special recognition for his contributions to the art of cycling, competitive or otherwise.

A fine fix...
Soldering was simple, reassembly also a snap. The Waterpik sonic toothbrush is now relieved of its former fate into landfill; hopefully for more years than the original batteries lasted (~2 yrs).
