Worst signal analyzer ever built

I have one... First it is near impossible to operate. You will spend literally hours reading the manual, just to get anything meaningful on the screen. Yes it does a FFT, but the graphics on the screen is tiny, almost impossible to see. Do not be fooled by all these buttons, they do very little. The data presentation SW is horrible, even for 1982 standards. The thing is almost 40 year old technology and back then it may have cost tens of thousands, but even then it was a seriously bad instrument. If you are collecting vintage electronic instruments... go ahead. But if you need a spectrum analyzer or data acquisition system... and have little money... buy some Chinese made modern system and never regret it.

Lower light output then is claimed

This is NOT a 1500mW Laser Diode... not even close The power consumption of the module is 220mA at 5V which is only 1.1W. But it is not the power consumption of the module which matters... it is the light output. I estimate the light output to be only a small fraction of what is claimed. I have mounted this device onto a heat-sink and onto an X-Y table... For all practical purposes this device is useless for an engraver. With other words... fraud
