It does help
It is still a struggle to cycle up steep hills, but it is slightly easier than a normal road bike.
You can do 5-8 mph up a steep hill cycling with all your effort.
On a flat surface you can do around 21 mph with minimum cycling.
Going down a steep hill whilst holding the booster you can reach 35 mph.
For a journey that takes 11 minutes in the car, it takes 16-20 minutes on this bike downhill, the opposite direction - uphill is 25 minutes.
Changing gears whilst cycling causes the chain to fall off, it's best to change gear when you're either not pedalling or when it is very easy to pedal.
When you start pedalling the booster will kick in - spinning the wheel faster. You can turn it off.
If you dont want to pedal you can hold the boost handle.
Even though it boosts you whilst pedalling, I find it helps a little more sometimes to hold the boost handle as well.
On a rainy day, the provided mud guards hardly stop anything from splashing all over you.
The battery can sometimes get stuck in the holder so you have to pull it really hard to get it out to charge it.
The handlebar has become very loose and it is as tight as it will go - the provided allan key is even twisting.
So the handle bar will go up and down.

Does the job
A bit pricey but does what it says just fine.
