A good kit
I do general electronic and electrical handy work, so was looking for a set of tools that would help get the job done. I was after tools and driver bits that were tough and would last.
This tool kit goes a long way to meet my needs.
PRO's
- Chrome Vanadium bits, so should be hard-wearing
- A good selection of bits.
- Excellent set of three metal tweezers.
- Good selection of plastic and some metal levers.
- Useful 15cm metal ruler. Can be used as a spudger, too.
- Great pouch to keep all the tools together.
CON's
- Suction cup is too small. It was squashed in the packaging, so does not sit well. Throw that away.
- 4mm bit size. A 6.5 to 4mm adapter is included, though.
- Snap blade cutter is sloppy. Fortunately it is steel, so with a bit of careful bending with a pair of pliers, I was able to firm up the hold on the blade, making it less sloppy.
- The magnitiser/demagnitser is of low quality.

Range is less than advertised
My unit arrived, complete with two tags and a finder. Both are compact and pairing was easy to complete.
I put the range to the test straight away. This is where the disappointment started. The tag was about 1.2m off the ground and in line of sight. Even under these conditions I only managed to get a range of about 30m.
Further testing in the house caused the range to drop further, as expected. I'm going to experiment further, but the claimed 120m/400ft is not a real world ability.
For the price I expected better. Compared to Bluetooth tags, the Loc8tor range is a little better and you get the ability to hone-in directionally, which is useful. If only the range was as advertised this would be awesome ...

Works well
I was looking for a way to take advantage of the great camera on a gimble in my Mavic Air for general (terrestrial) filming. This handle does this well. The one nuisance of all these drone handles is that you will need to pair your drone to your phone directly to see the image being captured. So switching back and forth between handle and remote control is an extra step that you need to deal with.
PRO's
- Works with drone arms folded.
- Easily clips on.
- Compact and light.
- Much cheaper than buying a 4K GoPro and handle with gimble.
MINOR CON's
- Handle does get in the way of the power switch, but can be temporarily twisting out of the way to reach the button.
