Worth the money to upgrade!
Great coffeemaker! Definitely a "good looking" appliance to be out on your counter but don't be fooled, it brews a fabulous cup-of-joe. I think the only design flaw is that you have to pull the unit out and turn it to verify the water level (the water level markings are on the back). Now that I've had it for several months, I can better gauge it as I fill it. It does come with a basket (for regular paper filters) and the reusable mesh filter which I opted not to use after the second time. Way better with the paper filters. Great of KitchenAid's desgin team to allow the user the choice!
