Not bad for a first-gen VR kit.
4 of 4 found this helpful This is was my first dive in VR, but I have to say it's been a positive experience overall considering the current price.
Pros: Easy set-up.
Lightweight headset and controllers.
3.5mm Headphone jack is there, because it matters.
Head mount is quite comfortable and has a good fit most of the time.
Decent open-source software-side support and selection of games available on the market.
Some people might not be able to wear bigger glass frames. For me this wasn't an issue though.
Cons: Oculus software taking up a lot of space, consider installing it on HDD if possible.
Only a single display instead of dual.
The display is running at 80hz, and some popular games just don't run smooth enough, which results in less comfortable play. My 75hz monitor looks ultra-smooth by comparison.
Only software implemented IPD adjustment.
The Field of View or FOV is pretty low and in most cases cannot be adjusted, which ends up in less comfortable play.
The headstrap speakers could be a bit better. They're just ok. So most of the time it's just better to use your own earphones or IEMs.
