12 of 18 found this helpful The AirPods are Apple's take on keeping you in there ecosystem with seamless wireless transition between iPhone, iPad, etc. (takes about 5 seconds to switch). Now since this is the start of killing the infamous wire in a mainstream setting; 5 hours does work for most people... it takes around 30 minutes to charge it and the case itself charges in less than 2 hours. These will NOT fall out of your ear; it didn't really occur to me but the wire on the original EarPods were really heavy given light tips. Since these ones don't have any sort of wire, they don't fall out when running, jumping- you have to break your skull in the process of attempting to slightly make these fall out of your ear, that's how secure. The sound is also good. If you're not an audiophile, it's basically the same as any headphone (if you are, and care more about sound than how it feels, looks, and connects, you probably don't even use Apple in the first place ;) anyway, it's refined in the mids and to a lesser extent, the base compared to the EarPods but they are ALOT more louder: I used these in a crowded protest near LA, still could hear the music. Apple made these more for there devices because there isn't a standard of quick connecting with Bluetooth, you can connect them to a non mac or non ios device, and you're still have the sound and battery... just not the mic (watch Jony Ive's narration for an explanation of how that works) or the double tap or a seem less connection. The reason is they're establishing a lifestyle. Some people only buy Nike for there sports gear... Apple wants to be the company of tech, it's even why they made that Nike watch. And while I think it's never too late to come aboard Apple's ship, it's a shame that there products used to stand on there own and now have to work together, though I don't care... i have all the apples :| bad jokes, wasn't even a joke now that I'm thinking about it. Anyway, I'll end on a bad not because English teachers tell you never to do that and I don't follow da rulz. I love the minimalistic change from iPhone 4&5 to 6&7 and the watch looks amazing, but the EarPods were designed along with a cloud white wire, taking that away is like having the Apple Watch without any band, it doesn't look good. With time, more and more people will buy these so it'll look as normal as the watch but for early adopters like myself, I may enjoy the product, but this is definitely does not look good. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
