Macbook Pro is Brilliant
The laptop is my first Mac, and it is has been the best thing that I ever bought! The transition between PC and Mac is nothing to be worried about, there are so many online video tutorials on www.apple.com that the transition has been seamless for me. The free software that you get with a Mac, being iLife, makes anything in Windows look pedestrian. iPhoto is absolutely brilliant, you can create such interesting projects without any training. iWeb creates the most incredible websites with a couple of clicks and drags, iDVD creates hollywood quality dvd's. The use of the Mac itself is where the secret lies, simple, but everything works. No flashing lights no bells and whistles it just works seamlessly. There is a saying that goes something like "Once you have used a Mac, you never go back", never a truer word spoken! The screen is brilliant, the menu is called a "Dock" brilliant, the search functionality of the operating system is unparalleled. I was told prior to buying the Mac, that I might have issues with syncing my Nokia mobile phone with it, rubbish. I downloaded a small file from the Nokia website, which enables the iSync application to work with my phone and it is seamless! The mail, calendar and address books are 3 different programs, as apposed to having it all in one in outlook, thought this would be a hassle but it is not. The track pad should be up for some sort of "design brilliance" award. Every windows based laptop I have ever owned, I have operated with a separate mouse, this is not necessary on the Mac, as the track pad with the "iPod Touch" type gestures, is brilliant. One minor gripe is that there is no delete button, only a back space button, but that is a small price to pay for the gains I a getting. Battery is unbelievable, my battery is halfway through it's life expectancy (I bought a second hand machine), and still I get about 5-6 hours working time out of my laptop. The charging cycle though is a bit arduous as it takes long to charge up again. This is my first Mac of many to come, I will never buy a Windows computer again!
