Bargain upgrade to breathe new life into an old computer
I bought this as an upgrade for an old hp pavillion running an e7200. As it was only £4, i decided to give it a go.
The removal of the old chip was very straight forward. The new chip justs dropped in very easily and I applied new thermal compound (sold seperately).
This chip doesnt feature integrated graphics like newer intel chips so i also upgraded the gpu. I also replaced the old hard disk with an ssd.
The machine booted quite happily and the benchmarks showed a decent 20% performance increase
It is now very useable and happily runs windows 10.
