Worth Snatching Up
Not many games are worth shelling out hundreds of dollars for, but Snatcher really does make a compelling case for itself. An engaging blend of visual novel and point-and-click adventure game, Snatcher may initially seem like a mere Blade Runner rip-off but quickly reveals itself to be a wholly unique take on well-worn dystopian sci-fi tropes. Infused with a wry sense of humor, the game never takes itself too seriously and, in true Hideo Kojima fashion, often breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to the player.
Snatcher is a rare example of a cult classic deserving of its reputation, a game that, even in 2019, somehow manages to surprise and avert expectations on a moment-by-moment basis.
Snatcher demands a pretty penny but in this case, it may just be worth taking out that second mortgage for.
