A book no offshore sailor should not have or read!!!
Title says it all.
Lin and Larry Pardy sailed around the world twice, covering over 20,000 nautical miles on there hand made yacht talisman, a 30ft wooden boat made by Larry himself.
They encountered so many storms and rough seas, they tried every conceivable method to rough it out, keep sailing, run before the storm, trails warps you name it, but time and time again they fell back to a system that worked well for there boat and for them.
The para sea anchor and heaving too using a bridle , they were able to safely ride out storms time and time again with complete ease and comfort whilst outside all around them chaos.
They could sleep, eat, cook , repair the boat and rest whilst in this mode.
The book goes into every detail in layman’s terms complete with diagrams and examples of other boats.
Try and get the third edition of this book as it has much more sea anchor tactics for deployment and retrieval etc.
I can’t recommend this book enough, even if you read it and pass it on you’ll have the knowledge to at least get yourself into a better position if the s**t hits the fan.
Dave the offshore sailor.

Nice flat pack stainless wood burner
Good quality build, easy to assemble wood/twig burner, no bottom plate to protect ground so use on a flat rock if possible but contains embers and burning material really well and got really good burn of it.
Pans set nicely and firmly on top without issue and it takes apart really quickly and folds nicely flat.
Would recommend it as a lightweight alternative to a fuel type stove

Great value battery
1 of 2 found this helpful Simple to use , straight forward battery with vents for charging.
Received it within a day and had it charged to 14.3volts . Great charge retention .
Will be buying 2 more for my boat.
