Looks fine but not compatible with my car

I bought this ABS pump control module and had it fitted to my car only to find out that no one seems to be able to configure it to my vehicle. Not even a technician from a Ford dealership using the dealers laptop. I have been told that this is because the module contains the chassis number of the vehicle it came from and this is stopping it being configured to my vehicle which obviously has a different chassis number. Basically wasted £130.
