Favorite new travel pack
I was a little nervous that it would be too big, but it's spot on size-wise. It might have a tough time passing for a carry-on in European discount carriers, but the overall size is ideal (at least for me) for a two week European trip. There's tons of compartments and well organized sleeves and pockets. I have the farpoint 40 and I think I prefer the porter 46 for size, organization, and ease of tucking away the backpacking straps. It also is well padded, light and sharp looking. I'd change mine out if I had to do it all over again!

WOW. Western Mountaineering doesn't mess around! I have a WM Caribou bag rated to 35 that I'm sure I've taken to 20° F before and managed, so my guess is this one will take me to like 10 safely. With added layers, of course. The loft is mostly comparable - a little more in the Terralite, but it also has baffles as opposed to sewn through construction, and that's going to make all the difference - no cold spots at all! The great thing about the Terralite, and the reason I'm so excited, is that there's TONS of room in this bag. I'll be able to thrash around and get perfectly comfy in it!
