Fiddly, but it works
This is a low-tech, low cost alternative to a drill press. It works fine if you've just got a few holes which you really need to be perpendicular to the surface, but if you've got dozens of holes to drill, I think the fiddliness would get annoying. I'm happy with mine. I found that a piece of double-sided sticky tape under each corner of the base (stuck firmly to the plastic, but just tacky on the wood) helped to keep it in the right place.
