Feel a bit too thick & heavy
Although I usually use anything between 1mm and 2mm, these 1.5 just felt thick and heavy. Maybe a thinner gauge would have suited me better and maybe some players would love these, but I'll return to my Fender "heavy" or Ultex 1.0 for now.

Great sound from my mandolin
I bought this to fit to my mandolin for playing for ceilidhs and I'm quite impressed, much better than I expected for the price. I'm sure the quality of tone from my instrument could be improved by spending a lot more money but this seems to do the job pretty well. As other people have said, placement is all important with this type of pick-up and a bit of experimentation is required. Mine is fitted to the outside of the instrument about 1/2 inch from the bridge, mainly because of there being very little room between the internal bracing on the mandolin.
It has a quality feel about it and no problem fitting it.

Just the job...
Decided to to try and fix the minidisc and this item was just the job! Got it on with tweezers and a small screwdriver on first attempt.
