bright light, poor batteries
1 of 1 found this helpful I wanted to use the head in a separate stand-alone project so split the battery pack apart to re-configure it...and found 4 x 18650 Li-Ion batteries inside, however only 2 were actually connected, the others merely making up the pack to look good
The 2 that were not connected claimed to be 3000 and 3400mAH but testing revealed they neither had nor would take any charge at all. The other 2 were capacity checked at 700mA charge and discharge and measured at 1194 and 1209mAH - i.e. they are lowly 1200mAH batteries with no protection circuitry at all. Very poor practice indeed
The light itself IS very bright, has a nice wide spread and big hotspot - ideal for my hand-held torch application. It has a buck-boost circuit board within which does a good job of keeping the brightness constant as the battery discharges - which at a mere 1200mAH capacity and 1600mA drain it does in under 30 mins at full brightness - again very poor.
It will do what I want but I think the product is a con.

Why pay more ?
After a lot of researching and pricing I decided on this bar as it appears to be the one O.E. fitted by the manufacturer
I have purchased from PF Jones previously and, as before it arrived just 2 days after ordering.
As with most things nowadays the "instructions" were all pictorial which need several reads before it all became clear but the bar fitted perfectly without any need for fiddling or "adjusting" (i.e. banging with a hammer), the instructions regarding the size of the hole to be cut in the underside of the bumper cover were quite vague, in the end I measured and worked out a hole considerably smaller than the recommended one !
Once fitted it is completely invisible from normal view
