Frequency counter review
Does react to digital signals close by giving a frequency reading, reacts well to analogue signals reacting faster than digital and further away from source. Sensitivity setting appears to be all or nothing, 3 being fairly sensitive, higher than 3 and the sensitivity decays rapidly. Unit seems to react strongly to mobile phone frequencies when there is nothing else around , showing them even when in analogue mode. All in all a useful inexpensive piece of portable test equipment.

Technomate TM - 5402 HD Satellite Receiver, Hardware blind scan & F1 Feed Channel Scan.
3 of 3 found this helpful Almost unique amongst satellite receivers, the TM - 5402 has it all. Most receivers use a pre-programmed software blind scan, where as the TM - 5402 uses a separate hardware module to carry out a blind scan which means you are more likely to lock weaker signals from transponders.
A special feature which I have not seen on other receivers is the F1 button on the remote control, which if you press before you begin a scan will enable your receiver to scan for broadcast feed channels, these are the ones which are used by television companies to choose their media content, so you can view stuff which you wont see on other satellite receivers. Another good feature on the blind scan is the ability to scan at 1,2,4 or 8 Mhz , most receivers scan only 4 0r 8 Mhz.
Voted by Which Satellite Magazine as one of the best satellite receivers ever produced.

Selfsat H30D Flat Satellite Dish
I am used to a 60cm conventional dish, and this was the first time I have tested a flat dish. I selected a Western azimuth satellite to align and tune as these are sometimes difficult to receive in the UK. The satellite I tried with the selfsat dish was Hispasat 1C at 30 degrees west. The satellite was easy to find and align using a compass and the Selfsat dish. The dish produced good signal levels from the transponders on Hispasat , 79% Signal and 69% quality, receiving all channels including Spanish, Cuban and Brazilian. The signal levels compare well with a 60cm round dish. The build quality of the selfsat H30D is very good, with well made brackets, easily adjustable and clearly marked in degrees. The supplied instruction manual is also very comprehensive, and includes tables of all the positions of satellites receivable in Europe. This is the ideal dish for camping, where space is at a premium, or on buildings where there are planning issues. A well made , well thought out quality product.
