Telecoustic - electic or acoustic?
This is a very interesting guitar -- the idea of an acoustic guitar that plays like an electric. Acoustically, it is ok, but shines plugged in. I had to do a lot of work on it as the strings are very high and to be perfectly honest, it's not the best of quality. I added playing cards to push the neck up a bit and then tried to straighten the neck tightening the truss rod, but that is sort of a lost cause as it straightened only a little before the truss rod was fully tightened. On a better note, these are great to play if you are Tele person. These are little off balance as the neck weighs more than the body, but it sure is fun to play. I restrung with the lightest acoustic strings I could find and enjoy it a lot. These guitars are notorious for cracking too and I did have one crack to fill. Match on the color not too great, but I can live with that. If you are looking for something a little different with a Tele like I was, these are fun -- just be prepared to work a lot on it to get it where you want. I find playing through an amp with a touch of OD really sounds pretty cool. Deep with a different tone due to the acoustic pickup inside. I like it, but do not pay too much for these -- they need a lot of work. I have not tried a new one so my thoughts are on the older models.
