Top raid performance.
Very expensive in its day. If you can pick one of these up cheaply on eBay it's a good investment if you want raid in a PC or older server. Its limited to sata 2 so not much use for modern ssd drives. I have a stack of 2tb sata drives connected to it and both read/write performance are excellent. I tried a raid 5 on Intel on-board controllers and although read was okay write performance was terrible. Now on the adaptec the more drives I add the greater the performance benefit, as is intended by a raid setup.
The only let down is the accelerated ssd boost (MaxCache) only works with a adaptec branded Intel ssd which you cannot buy anywhere. Newer adaptec cards support most mainstream ssds but earlier cards are very limited.

AMD HD4850 1GB. Low power and High Performance
It is a good Graphics card. Uses less power than its bigger brothers and because of that creates less heat. I use it in a small Shuttle HTPC and it is powerful enough for all games at 1080p Crysis included, it also has good HD content acceleration and so the CPU usage playing Bluray's dropped from 60% on a 8800GTS, to around 30%
The 1GB of onboard graphics RAM is supposed to help at high resolutions and running every game at 1920x1080 is definately utilizing it.
I run it in PC with only a 350W PSU , with AMD FX60(dual core),2GB on RAM, 2x 1TB HDD's, LG HD-DVD and Bluray combo drive.
No heat issues or power shortages.
Well worth the money.
