Variac
If you own vintage tube guitar amps designed to work on 117 volts, this device will allow you to dial in correct voltages.
Buy a DM-55 voltmeter ($10) and plug that into a power strip and then the power strip into this nice red Variac.
I bought the 5-amp model which is about half the size of a toaster but much heavier. The 10-amp model would be great too.
Don’t expect anything but the sound an amp operating at its specified voltages (or slightly lower voltages).
You must be able to monitor the voltages hence the meter recommendation. Nice product; I’m glad I bought it.
