Capable but with problems

This is a big step up on my previous phone and the 16GB version handles things quickly and seemingly with no performance/speed issues. For that reason, it gets some plus points. For the money it is quite a good buy and it isn't filled with lots of preinstalled apps. Battery life seems pretty good however, I've been disappointed by a number of issues which have occurred since I've used it over the last month. These include: Basic issues with making a call. My first phone call I was locked out of; the screen turned off and wouldn't turn back on which left me locked into leaving someone an answer message until that cut out. It behaves randomly - sometimes the screen will turn off and won't come back on until the power button is pressed, sometimes it won't come back on at all, sometimes it will stay on and you accidentally press button on the screen. Either way the proximity sensor is faulty and software fixes don't seem to have worked. It is being returned under warranty for investigation.... I had a lot of issues initially with the phone randomly rebooting. The phone is fully up to date with system updates. For some reason the google app regularly crashed the phone and locked me out. The only way to recover it was to reboot it. This seems to have stopped in the last couple of weeks. It's not a major issue but the screen resolution is not great. It's not always obvious but on some applications the resolution looks really poor. Even my 4 year old phone had a better screen than this one. All in all a capable phone but I just wish it would work as a phone and without problems!
