Hugely Underrated Album
Largely polarised in the music press, on one side were the people who dismissed Forever Until October as student noise merchants, on the other side those who could appreciate the complex almost progish value in the song writing and power and range of singer Phil Darroch’s lyrics. Today in 2008 the album would fit into the Emo category. When I heard them back in 2003 I wasn’t even sure what Emo was, some said Hundred Reasons others said names of bands I’d never heard of. Over time Emo became a byword for effeminate mincing fashion rock with a boy lead singer who’d be as happy fronting McFly as they were a garage rock band. But if Emo did ever exist as a respectable and honest derivative of rock, Forever Until October should be considered one of the true forefathers – I’m not saying they invented it, just that were there when it meant something and wasn't all about asymmetric haircuts and black nail polish stolen from the Goths. The songs are complicated and almost orchestral, mixing percussive clicks and grunts of the guitars with altered time signatures and melodies, while the lyrics patiently and emotively force their way over the top almost irrespectively of the song they’re attached to. That’s not to say they don’t fit, the combination of both these heavy weights vying for musical superiority is what makes this album for me. On first listen, you’ll be forgiven for finding the whole thing unfathomable, it’ll just be 50 Minutes of guitars, drums, screams, clunks and chucks. But if you give it 3 or 4 listens you’ll start to notice the repetition, the catches and hooks, and if like me, by the 6th or 8th listen to the album you’ll start to really appreciate the song writing and be completely amazed by the conception of an album like this – how can you write an album like this? It’s like looking at a Jackson Pollock painting then finding out that each blob, each individual speck of a million spots of paint were individually placed on the canvas to compliment and highlight the one proceeding it and improve the one following it – genius. I’d recommend this album to anyone who’s ever had an album that they didn’t think that much to at the start, but after a while, something clicked in their brain and they absolutely naffing well loved it.
2018 MX Quad Core Android TV Box 4K KODI 17.6 Ultra HD Pro-Media Player Streamer

Rubbish layers or clicking to access 3rd party content - dissapointing.
When the YouView box broke for the bedroom I thought I'd replace it with a Kodi box. I was pretty disappointed with what I found. I'd known about Kodi boxes for a while, but did a little extra research before purchasing this Kodi(style) box. For those of you who don't know, it's essentially like having a TabletiPad box which you can plug into your TV and run apps from. So, it runs Android, you connect it to your TV, connect it to your Wifi (or wired network) download and access the Play store - then you can download Apps from the Google Play store to play on your TV. Or so I thought... the reality was very disappointing. I navigated to the Play Store, found BBCi player - [SORRY THIS APP ISN'T COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE] I gave a little laugh out loud. Found 4OD (Channel 4's on-demand player) - [SORRY THIS APP ISN'T COMPATIBLE...] you know the rest. At which point I started to Google if there was a fix. It turns out you need to setup the Kodi app, then within the Kodi app there's a 3rd party "extension" which allows you to access the BBC iPlayer. But it does mean, I need to turn on the box, load Kodi, scroll through it's menu, select BBCiplayer, wait for that to load, then I have to use it's own 3rd party interface to search for content. I just couldn't be bothered with it - why have so many rubbish levels to go through to be faced with something which is clunky and difficulty to use. Which sums up how I feel about this box. I recommend getting a YouView box. Unlike this product, it's instantly on, with BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Channel 5, Netflix, NowTV, UKTV player etc. it uses the source interface (so you can save cookies and login to your own accounts) and is much smoother than this thing. Alternatively, buy a casting device like Chromecast, then just use your phone or tablet to cast its content onto the screen. So much easier to use than this, so much more compatibility with Apps. I struggle to think of any reason why anyone is 2018 would buy something like this.
