unopened and new was not the case

Order this item as a new, unopened box. could tell when I got it it had been opened. Not until I went to install it did I find out that it had previously been installed and programmed with another person's internet and the 2 of the tabs that you installed the thermostat wires in were broken. I was able make it work, but it was not a new, unopened item.
