Prefab Sprout’s first album is a uniquely quirky thing written by Paddy McAloon in his teens and twenties but more resembling the wisdom of ages told by a seasoned trouper.
Not initially impressive to my teenage self, the jazzy chords and dense wordplay reward repeated listening with phrases and twists that will stick in your mind forever. Genius.
