Use hand held without monopod or tripod
3 of 3 found this helpful The AF-S Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 DII does not weigh a ton as the other review states. I use it all day hand held on D500's and D5's for motorsports. If 91.71 oz. (5.7 lbs.) is heavy to you, maybe you should exercise or lift weights occasionally. The newer VR's are heavier.
