Much better than the TV series

I came upon Ann Cleeves from the Vera Stanhope TV series. Although the TV series were good, it's nothing compared to the books. This one particularly is very different from the series and goes a lot deeper into the characters. This book kept me awake at night until I had finished it very early in the morning

Better than expected

Never had the chance to view all episodes when it was repeatedly broadcasted on TV, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this complete box-set new available. Picture quality is above average, compared with a lot of other reissued material on DVD's from that period. Nothing is mentioned on the box about remastering, so the source material must have been very good.

Good movie but poor DVD quality

I bought this movie mainly because of Lee Remick. The story itself is entertaining but the DVD seems to have been recorded from an old television broadcast. Poor picture quality and even worse sound. I have seen better recordings from that time period. A warning on the cover is printed: Some quality may have been lost during the transferring process. That is a big understatement.
